Colorless or white transparent flaky brittle crystals, or crystalline powders and blocks. It has a strong smell of rosin, camphor and mint. It can sublimate when heated and volatilize slowly at room temperature, with a burning sensation. Melting point 208 ºC (racemate), boiling point 212 ºC, flash point 65.6chemical book ºC, relative density 1.011 (20 ºC). Insoluble in water, soluble in ethanol, ether and chloroform. Natural levorosomes exist in nutmeg, cardamom, ginger, etc., dextrorosomes exist in coriander seeds, citronella, etc., and racemes exist in camphor, rosemary, thyme, etc.
Application
Edible spices. It is mainly used to prepare mint, white lemon, nut, rosemary, lavender and other essence.
It is widely used in the pharmaceutical industry as a biochemical reagent.
Used for manufacturing borneol esters, spices, etc.
