Star anise oil is a kind of complex natural flavor oil extracted from the fruit or branches of star anise. Generally, it is colorless or light yellow volatile oil liquid, which has good antibacterial, white blood cell increase, analgesic and insecticidal activities and anti-free radical oxidation.
1. Antioxidant Effect

Star anise oil is a natural free radical scavenger with good antioxidant activity. The volatile oil of star
anise has good antioxidant activity, and the oil extracted with ethanol water as solvent has the highest antioxidant activity.

2. Insecticidal effect

Star anise oil has a strong fumigation activity on the nitraria oryzae, and the mortality rate of the adult nitraria oryzae is 100%. It has a good insecticidal effect and can make up for the environmental unfriendly caused by chemical insecticides. When the dose of fennel oil was 50mg/ L and fumigated for 24h, the mortality rate of the adult was up to 100%. When the dose was reduced to 10mg/ L, the mortality rate was still up to 80%.
